About the trial version

The trial version allows you access to all the powerful modelling and data analysis features of the toolbar for 90 days from when you first use it. Thereafter, just the basic editing features remain available.

To continue accessing all the features of the toolbar you need to purchase a passcode - see the menu on the left for a link to instructions on this.

How to download and install a trial version of the ImagineIT Toolbar

  • Windows computers: right-click the link and choose to 'save target' to a convenient location on your hard disc:
  • Download ImagineIT for Windows

  • Macintosh computers: option-click the link and download to your download folder:

Download ImagineI for Macintosh (not available yet)

  • Start Excel.

  • Go to the Tools menu, select Macros and then Security . . .

  • Set the macro security level to either Medium or Low (but not High as this will prevent the toolbar working because the toolbar works by running small visual basic programmes called 'macros').

If you choose Medium you will be asked whether you want to enable or disable macros each time you use the toolbar for the first time after starting Excel. You need to click Enable.

  • Go to the File menu, navigate to the ImagineIT file that you have just downloaded to your hard disc. Then double-click the file to open it.

  • The ImagineIT Toolbar should now be visible at the top of the screen looking like this (but as one continuous toolbar rather than two):

  • Every time you restart Excel from now on the ImagineIT Toolbar will reappear at the top of the screen.

(Should you ever want to stop it reappearing, go to the View menu in Excel, choose Toolbars, and then remove the tick next to ImagineIT. To cause the toolbar to reappear, replace this tick. To delete the toolbar permanently, go to the Options menu in Excel, choose Customize . . , select the Toolbars tab and then ImagineIT and finally press the Delete button, followed by Close. To remove the ImagineIT programme as well as the toolbar attached to it, find the ImagineIT file that you downloaded originally and delete it.)

  • NOTE You can make the toolbar 'free-floating' by dragging the vertical bar at the extreme left hand edge downards and inwards and then resizing it to a convenient shape by dragging the edges. This is particularly useful when using a screen resolution of 800x600 for which the toolbar is too long to fit.

  • If you just want to switch the ImagineIT Toolbar off except for the formatting options, click this button . (The graph buttons then just change the format of an existing graph and cannot be used to create new graphs.) To switch the full toolbar on again click the same button. The shortened toolbar looks like this:

  • If your copy of the ImagineIT Toolbar has this key button at the right hand end, it is a time-limited copy. At the end of the free time (or before) you will have to click this button and enter a passcode in order to continue using the toolbar. (The formatting buttons will, however, still work without the passcode.) The passcode is supplied when you buy the toolbar.
